Section 10. Documentation Regarding Organized Mess <br /> .. . . . . <br /> In order that all members of each Ffire Gcompany beare available at all times to respond to an <br /> emergencyies as quickly and efficiently as possible, and in order to provide for harmony and fellowship <br /> among the members of Ffire C-companies, there shall be a common organized mess at each Ffire Sstation <br /> to which all bargaining unit employees - . ..-.1- •• - .. - . -• -- assigned to that <br /> Sstation shall be required to contribute on a daily basis. The Captain on each shift at each Sstation shall <br /> shall normally make all assignments as to the duties to be performed by those employees in regard to the <br /> common mess. The Employer shall not be responsible for financially supporting or otherwise paying the <br /> cost of any on duty meal. Employees may be exempted from the common mess only for valid medical or <br /> religious reasons that have been verified to the City's satisfaction. <br /> This provision is intended to satisfy Internal Revenue Service requirements as to the existence of a <br /> requirement that employees contribute to an organized mess. <br /> Section 11. Fire Prevention Certificate Pay <br /> Fire prevention personnel hired after July 1, 2012 shall receive an additional four percent (4%) of base <br /> salary for obtaining the California Fire Service Training and Education System Fire Prevention Officer <br /> (Level 1) certificate. - . . -- ' . • . • . • • • . •- _ • - .••- <br /> Suppression Employees shall maintain their EMT certifications or Paramedic licenses in order to be <br /> 0 . <br /> Effective July 6, 2013 an additional 1%of base salary for a total of 2%. <br /> - - ' • 0 4o <br /> Prevention: Employees hired after July 1, 2012 shall obtain the California State Fire Fire Prevention <br /> under "Suppression" above.
