Due to limited development opportunities and frequent right-of-
ways constraints, proposed improvements along this section of Foothill Road are minimal.
Quick Build, Near-Term and Long-Term improvements for Character Area 3 are listed in
Table 6 (page 50). The improvements include buffered bike lanes, widening Foothill Road
and providing additional striping.
Foothill Sidewalk South of Foothill High School
Through the public outreach process for the Foothill Road BCP, feedback was received
regarding a sidewalk concern between Muirwood Drive (South) and Puri Court.
While not part of the Foothill Road BCP, staff is in the process of scheduling a short-term
improvement to the area. The improvement consists of replacing the asphalt sidewalk and
installing a pedestrian/bicycle railing. The ultimate improvement requires roadway
widening and the construction of a new retaining wall to accommodate the buffered bike
lanes and the multiuse trail. The railing is scheduled for installation over the Pleasanton
Unified School District winter break.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
4a ---
F
/7(hfi —
(IU
erry Beaudin Tina Olson Nelson Fialho
Director of Director of Finance City Manager
Community Development
Attachments: Foothill Road Bicycle Corridor Plan
Page 4 of 4
