Multiple Unit system extending from Pleasanton to Lathrop. Mayor Thorne addressed
his fellow Authority members explaining that the City of Pleasanton's formal policy
position was to support a BART extension and that the alternative should be carried
forward and considered in the EIR. Mayor Thorne also requested that a presentation is
made to the full City Council in a public meeting so that the Council and the community
could consider and evaluate the Multiple Unit system alternative recommended by
Authority staff.
The presentation to be given by Authority staff and consultants will include information
on several of the issues important to the City Council and the community including
comparative ridership estimates, required right-of-way take, cost, project schedule, and
parking. They will also present details on the Multiple Unit system technology, design
and operation, and will present the reasons they favor this option over other
alternatives.
Submitted by:
Approved by:
Brian Dolan Ne son Fialho
Assistant City Manager City Manager
Attachments:
1.
