IN THE <br /> AMOUNT OF $373,570.20 FOR THE BASKETBALL COURT <br /> RESURFACING AT TENNIS AND COMMUNITY PARK, TAWNY PARK <br /> AND MEADOWS PARK PROJECT, CIP NO. 18744 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Plans for the Basketball Court Resurfacing at Tennis and Community Park, Tawny Park <br /> and Meadows Park project, CIP No. 18744, were completed and advertised for <br /> construction bid in July 2018. Three contractors attended the mandatory pre-bid <br /> meeting on July 24, 2018, but only one bid was received at the bid opening on July 31, <br /> 2018. Staff is recommending the contract be awarded to Vintage Contractors, Inc. for <br /> the sole bid amount of $373,570.20. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bid and award the construction contract to Vintage Contractors, Inc. for <br /> the sole bid amount of$373,570.20. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the project contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Engineering to approve and execute any required contract <br /> change order(s) for up to a not-to-exceed amount of $38,000 (approximately ten <br /> percent of the construction contract) for unforeseen yet necessary related work. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> $500,000 is budgeted for this project in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP), CIP <br /> No. 18744. The anticipated total expenditure for this project is $447,415, including the <br /> construction bid of$373,570.20, a ten percent contingency, designs fees, and other <br /> project incidental costs. See Attachment 2 for a summary of funding and anticipated <br /> expenditures. <br />
