THE CITY OF 7 <br /> m <br /> . _ <br /> LEASANTON0 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> August 21, 2018 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY ROSAS <br /> BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION FOR THE 2018 CURB AND GUTTER <br /> REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT PROJECT, CIP NO. 17509 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The 2018 Curb and Gutter Removal/Replacement project consisted of removing and <br /> replacing damaged concrete sidewalks that presented potential tripping hazards. It also <br /> included repair of curbs and gutters for better drainage, and the installation of new <br /> intersection ramps for accessibility. This work was coordinated with the street pavement <br /> rehabilitation project, including the pavement work along First Street and Main Street in <br /> downtown Pleasanton. Construction of the project is complete and ready for <br /> acceptance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the project. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion. <br /> 3. Authorize the payment of the retention in the amount of $30,612.71 to Rosas <br /> Brothers Construction, 30 days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 4. Authorize the transfer of the project's unused balance of $5,460.04 to the Gas Tax <br /> Fund. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project totaled $636,692 as outlined in Attachment 1. Expenditures <br /> totaled $631,232, leaving an unused balance of $5,460. Staff recommends the transfer <br /> of this balance to the Gas Tax Fund. <br />
