Accordingly, the sanitary
sewer and water main extensions were redesigned to traverse Alameda County
Fairgrounds' property by a different alignment (see Attachment 4).
In August 1, 2017, Ponderosa, working with SummerHill, secured the necessary public
service easements from Alameda County Board of Supervisors. This action fulfilled the
SummerHill obligation to secure the easements. The easements are dedicated to the
City of Pleasanton and provide for the installation, maintenance and repair of the off-site
improvements on Alameda County Fairgrounds' property.
Following City Council acceptance, the City Engineer, acting under his authority
pursuant to Resolution No. 11-425, will accept the easements and effect their
recordation at the Alameda County Clerk-Recorder's Office. Upon recordation, the City
Engineer will release the SummerHill Surety Bond.
DISCUSSION
Reimbursement to Ponderosa
As noted above, Ponderosa is eligible to be partially reimbursed by an amount of
$55,830 in Water Expansion Funds and $242,851 in Developer Funds for the
construction and installation of the off-site improvements. On August 15, 2017, City
Council approved the payment of$55,830 to Ponderosa Homes II, Inc. to cover the cost
of an upgrade from the originally planned 10-inch water main to the installed 16-inch
water main. Accordingly, the total reimbursement amount of$298,681 will be released
to Ponderosa by the Director of Finance pending City Council's authorization.
Installation of Off-Site Sanitary Sewer and Water Main Improvements
The Off-Site Improvement Agreement provided for the construction and installation of
the public sanitary sewer main, water main and laterals, and six fire hydrants on
Alameda County Fairgrounds' property.
Page 3of4
