(ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT) OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY <br /> OF PLEASANTON, RELATING TO POLITICAL SIGNS <br /> <br />~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> !Section 1. ~2-5.28, Article 2, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordi- <br /> nance Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amended <br /> by the addition of a subsection (f) to read as follows: <br /> <br />!i ~2-5.28 <br />i~ a .... <br />!r Co ... <br /> <br />~! e .... <br />~! f. Signs, political. A political sign shall <br />~! mean any sign which is designed to influence <br />il the action of the voters either for the <br />~ passage or defeat of a measure appearing on <br />!~ the ballot of any national, state or local <br />~ election, or which is designed to influence <br />i the action of the voters either for the <br />i! election or defeat of a candidate for nomi- <br /> nation or election to any office, whether <br /> public or private, partisan or non-partisan, <br /> at any national, state or local election. <br /> This definition shall include, but not be <br /> limited to, the following elections: races <br /> for president, congress, governor, legisla- <br /> tor, supervisor, City Council, school board <br />~ member, union officer, officer in a local <br />i! organization, and any honorary position. <br /> <br />!{ Section 2. ~2-9.40 (Exempt Signs), Article 18, Chapter 2, Title <br /> II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is <br /> <br />!i hereby amended by an amendment to subsection (e) and the! <br /> addition of subsection (j), said changes to read as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> ~2-9.40 Exempt Signs. The following signs are not <br /> subject to the regulations of this article: <br /> <br /> e e e <br /> <br /> e. Temporary signs, banners, or displays of an <br /> emergency, patriotic, religious, civic, or <br /> community nature, provided they are removed <br /> within seven (7) days following the event <br /> to which they pertain. <br /> <br /> <br />
