CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 714 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING FOR EIGHT (8) MONTHS THE PROVISIONS <br /> OF ORDINANCE NO. 698 AMENDING BY ZONING UNIT MAPS 133 AND <br /> 134 THE ZONING MAPS OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND REZONING <br /> CERTAIN PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON FROM <br /> RM-1500, RM-2500 AND RM-4000 (MULTI-FAMILY DISTRICTS), <br /> R1-6500 (SINGLE FAMILY DISTRICT) AND A (AGRICULTURAL DIS- <br /> TRICT) TO S (STUDY DISTRICT) AND AMENDING THE ORDINANCE <br /> CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ACCORDINGLY (MISSION PARK <br /> AND QUALIFIED INVESTMENT AREAS). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Sec 65858 of the Government Code of the State of <br /> California permits the City Council, in order to protect the <br /> public safety, health and welfare, to adopt as an urgency measure <br /> an interim ordinance prohibiting any uses which may be in conflict <br /> <br />with a contemplated zoning proposal which the City Council, <br />~Planning Commission or planning department is considering or <br /> studying or intending to study within a reasonable time~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council subsequent to the imposition of <br /> <br /> a Cease and Desist Order 71-79, dated November 23, 1971 issued <br /> by the Regional Water Quality Control Board, requested the staff <br /> to commence a review of properties within the City which may <br /> have an inappropriate zoning classification considering the <br /> City's ability to provide sewer capacity; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is in the process of updating and amending <br /> its General Plan and as a result is reconsidering the appropriate <br /> land use designation of various parcels of property located within <br /> the City, such order being separate and apart from the directive <br /> referred to in the preceding paragraph; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Community Development Department and Planning <br /> Commission have recommended to the City Council that certain <br /> properties be placed into a study district pending completion of <br /> the above studies; and <br /> <br /> <br />
