CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 711 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 2 (GENERAL PROVISIONS), <br /> CHAPTER 5 (REGULATIONS OF RECREATION FACILITIES), <br /> TITLE IV (HEALTH, SAFETY, MORAL AND GENERAL WELFARE) <br /> OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RELATING TO HORSEBACK RIDING AND GOLFING IN THE <br /> PUBLIC PARKS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission at their meeting of <br />August 22, 1973, received a communication from the Recreation <br />Superintendent regarding the misuse of park facilities by horse- <br />back riders and golfers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission, by Resolution #7326, <br />recommended that the City Council amend Article 2, Chapter 5, <br />Title IV, relating to horseback riding and golfing activities in <br /> <br /> parks due to the necessity to protect the public safety; <br />City ' s <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this matter was considered by the City Council at its <br />meeting of September 12, 1973; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. ~4-7.93, Additional Rules, of Article 2, Chapter 5, <br /> Title IV of the Ordinance Code of the City of <br /> Pleasanton is deleted in its entirety. <br /> <br />Section 2. ~4-7.93, Horsebac~ Riding, is hereby added to Article <br /> 2, Chapter 5, Title IV of the Ordinance Code of the <br /> City of Pleasanton to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "~4-7.93 Horseback Riding. No horseback riding <br /> shall be allowed within the public parks <br /> except for horseback riding on assigned <br /> equestrian paths." <br /> <br />Section 3. ~4-7.94, Golfing, is hereby added to Article 2, <br /> Chapter 5, Title IV of the Ordinance Code of the City <br /> of Pleasanton to read as follows: <br /> "~4-7.94 Golfing. No golfing, including but not <br /> <br /> <br />
