Attachment 4 Management Partners To: Brian Dolan, Assistant City Manager From: Steven Bocian, Special Advisor, Management Partners Subject: April 12, 2018 Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Commission and Public Comment Summary Date: April 16, 2018 Listed below is a summary of comments made at the April 12,2018 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting to consider for incorporation into the final Community Farm Master Plan. Also included is a summary of individual commissioner and Master Gardener comments, which form the basis of the summary comments.When reviewing individual commissioner comments, note that similar comments were made by different commissioners and therefore, the listing should not be attributed exclusively to the individuals noted below. SUMMARY OF COMMUNITY FARM COMMENTS (Separated by Program Feature and Area) Garden Patch Program • Consider various sized raised garden plots, including those that are smaller, to meet the needs of a single user and assure the area's design accommodates additional plots to meet current and future needs. • Evaluate the design and access to the raised garden plots to accommodate the disabled and seniors. • Reach out to the local Boy Scouts for assistance with the construction and maintenance of the raised garden plots. • Develop City Garden Patch use policies to assure they accommodate turn over to meet needs, actively manage the wait list, and monitor usage to assure raised garden plots are being actively gardened. Demonstration Garden • Evaluate the practicality and benefits of design consistency between the raised garden plots in the Garden Patch area and the garden plots in the Demonstration Gardens. • Review the location of the public trail in relationship to the Demonstration Garden to maximize public access and assure security and operations of the Demonstration Garden.
