Applications Recommended for Public Services Funding The City has allocated General Fund money to support the provision of important human services in Pleasanton. These local funds are supplemented by federal CDBG "public services" funds. Applications were reviewed by the Human Services Commission at its March 7th meeting. The minutes from the meeting are included as Attachment 2. The Human Services Commission reviewed, scored, and ranked applications through the online grants management system and evaluated projects against the funding priorities it adopted in November 2017 [based on the most recent Tri-Valley Human Services Needs Assessment (2011) and Strategic Plan (2014-2016)]. The 2017 HSC funding priorities are as follows: 1. Programs that prioritize the "core services" identified in the recently adopted "2011 Human Services Needs Assessment" (dental care, primary health care, mental health, food/nutrition, housing activities). 2. Programs that take into consideration transportation (e.g., incorporates or anticipates how clients will access the proposed programs or activities). 3. Programs that are innovative and demonstrate service coordination and collaboration. 4. The agency has registered with Alameda County 2-1-1 and Ptownlife.org. On March 7th, the Human Services Commission held a hearing for grant applicants during which they heard presentations from new applicants/projects and from other applicants prior to their funding deliberation. The following Table 4 provides a summary of the programs reviewed by the Human Services Commission and their funding recommendations.
