Heather Greaux from Open Heart Kitchen provided information about plate waste and requests <br /> that had been made by the county. She advised that side salads have been dropped, but <br /> salads are being added as an entree <br /> In discussing Spectrum Community Services Commissioner Wright commented on a recent <br /> letter they had sent out discussing lack of funding. Commissioner Sedlak discussed emphasis <br /> being on salary increases for an Assistant Coordinator and felt this was something well <br /> needed. <br /> Commissioner Sedlak commented on the value that the Police Department gives to CALICO <br /> Center and questioned why staff was downgrading the amount of funding. He felt they should <br /> receive 100% funding. Commissioner Clare commented on the amount given the previous <br /> year and changes that have been made. Commissioner Wright indicated she had been very <br /> impressed with the presentation CALICO made at the recent workshop and Commissioner <br /> Sedlak felt the services they provide are significant. Commissioner Parekh suggested taking <br /> into consideration the services they provide that are hard to replicate and their collaboration <br /> with the Police Department. <br /> Commissioner Clare asked about the contract the City of Pleasanton has with Senior Support <br /> Program of the Tri-Valley and why the funds they are requesting for gas gift cards for <br /> volunteers could not be joined in with the paratransit funds. Mr. Ingram advised that this <br /> funding request had been presented because of a recommendation made by the Commission <br /> at a recent workshop. Commissioner Clare reaffirmed her recommendation that this request <br /> become part of the contract that the City has with Senior Support. She and staff also <br /> discussed the use of Measure BB funds. <br /> Commissioner Roby commented on mileage reimbursement being a possibility and felt there <br /> were creative ways to do reimbursements. Commissioner Clare commented on sources <br /> through the city that funds are being requested. <br /> Commissioners agreed on the value of this funding request by Senior Support and asked staff <br /> to look at the contract to determine if changes could be made to it to cover this funding <br /> request. <br /> Mr. Hernandez provided information on the 20% of funding allocated for Administration, he <br /> advised that funds could be taken from this and moved to Capital projects. He also noted that <br /> unallocated funds would rollover to the next year. Commissioner Clare felt the Administration <br /> amount should be left, but Commissioner Wright thought the Commissioned needed to be able <br /> to justify the increased amount. Commissioner Roby felt the increased amount was due to the <br /> anticipated amount from CDBG. <br /> Commissioner Roby commented on the Capital project that need to be considered and felt that <br /> funds that had been held over would eventually be used with larger amounts of funds. He felt <br /> that Axis and Tri-Valley haven were important agencies that need to be assisted. Chairperson <br /> Hayes agreed stating that they are the backbone of many programs that are in place.
