THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON® <br /> March 6, 2018 <br /> Community Development <br /> Traffic Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: AWARD DESIGN PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT TO AECOM <br /> TECHNICAL SERVICES, INC. FOR DESIGN OF THE SUNOL <br /> INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton issued a request for proposals for a design consultant to <br /> conduct a Feasibility Study and prepare Project Initiation Documents (PID) for the <br /> I-680/Sunol Interchange Improvement project. Four proposals were received and <br /> AECOM Technical Services, Inc., was selected as the preferred consultant for this work. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . Award a contract to AECOM Technical Services, Inc. for Feasibility Study and <br /> Project Initiation Document work related to the Sunol Interchange Improvement <br /> project for a not-to-exceed amount of $489,257.97 <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the consultant contract <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) includes a project to modify the <br /> I-680/Sunol Boulevard Interchange (CIP No. 15551). This CIP is funded by Traffic <br /> Impact Fees ($650,000 in FY 2015/16 and $1,350,000 in FY 2017/18). This contract for <br /> $489,258 is the second drawdown on CIP 15551 . On February 20, 2018, the City <br /> Council approved a Cooperative Agreement and funding in the amount of $204,000 for <br /> Caltrans to complete their project oversight work for the PID phase. <br /> The remaining $1,306,742 in CIP 15551 will be used for detailed project design that will <br /> occur after the PID phase. <br />
