THE CITY OF CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT PL£ASANTONC 4 February 6, 2018 Engineering TITLE: APPROVE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH HMH IN THE NOT -TO -EXCEED AMOUNT OF $197,000 FOR THE DESIGN OF THE DOWNTOWN TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, CIP NO. 17448 SUMMARY Staff is requesting authorization for the City Manager to execute a contract with HMH to provide engineering and design services for the replacement of the existing parking lot in the transportation corridor between Bernal Avenue and Abbie Street. This project has been identified as the number one priority under the Downtown Pleasanton Parking Strategy and Implementation Plan, which was approved by City Council on April 26, 2017. The project is in conformance with the City of Pleasanton General Plan 2005- 2025 and the City of Pleasanton Downtown Specific Plan. The existing parking lot provides 60 spaces. The project will add 70 to 80 spaces and provide a walking path, arranged similar to the Fire House Arts Center parking lot. RECOMMENDATION 1 Approve the design professional services agreement with HMH of San Jose, California, for civil engineering services for the Downtown Transportation Corridor Parking Lot Improvements project, CIP No.17448, for a not -to -exceed amount of $197,000. 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement. FINANCIAL STATEMENT The anticipated total expenditure for this project is $2.2 million dollars, including approximately $200,000 for design and $2,000,000 for construction. Design is budgeted in fiscal year 2017-18, and construction is budgeted in fiscal year 2018-19.
