TRAFFIC DIVISION <br />73. The paving sections for the on-site parking and drive areas shall be designed on <br />the basis of an R -Value test and a traffic index to carry the anticipated traffic <br />loads. This design shall be subject to the approval by the Building and Safety <br />Division. The minimum paving section shall be two inches of asphalt concrete <br />(A.C.) on a six-inch asphalt base (A.B.). The minimum A.C. pavement slope <br />shall be one percent. For pavement slopes less than one percent, the surface <br />runoff shall be carried in a concrete gutter to an acceptable point of discharge. <br />The minimum slope for concrete gutter shall be 0.5 -percent. <br />74. The applicant shall pay traffic impact fees as determined by the City Traffic <br />Engineer for the intersections with LOS E and F. Any design or improvement <br />plans for intersections shall be submitted to the Department of Public Works for <br />review and approval prior to building permit issuance. The property and/or <br />developer shall also make improvements to the left turn lane located at Valley <br />Avenue/Boulder Street. The City Engineer and City Traffic Engineer may waive <br />the requirements for those improvements and require an additional fair share <br />cost that shall be a cost over and above the traffic impact fees, if required. The <br />applicant shall pay all fees at the time of issuance of the first building permit on <br />the site. <br />75. The project developer shall extend the existing northbound left -turn lane on <br />Boulder Street southerly to accommodate anticipated vehicle queuing. This <br />modification shall be shown on the construction drawings and shall be submitted <br />to the City Traffic Engineer for review and approval prior to the issuance of a <br />building permit. This modification shall be constructed prior to the occupancy of <br />any of the four buildings. <br />76. All parking spaces shall be striped. Wheel stops shall be provided, unless the <br />spaces are fronted by concrete curbs or railroad ties; in which case sufficient <br />areas shall be provided beyond the ends of all parking spaces to accommodate <br />the overhang of automobiles. <br />77. The drive aisle widths shall be clearly shown on the plans submitted for the <br />issuance of a building permit. All drive aisles widths shall meet the minimum <br />requirements of Chapter 18.88 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code. As <br />determined by the Fire Marshall, some drive aisles may be required to be painted <br />and/or posted as fire lanes. <br />78. All full-sized parking spaces shall be a minimum of 19'x 9' in size and compact <br />parking spaces shall be a minimum of 8'x 16' in size. Reductions in parking <br />space length up to a maximum of 2' shall be allowed so long as adequate vehicle <br />overhang is provided in front of each reduced -sized parking space, as <br />determined by the Planning Director. Each compact car space shall be marked <br />clearly with bold lettering no less than eight inches in height "Compact Car Only". <br />14 <br />
