THE CITY OF 9 <br /> "' "' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> December 19, 2017 <br /> Human Resources <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED PAY <br /> SCHEDULE COVERING TEMPORARY CLASSIFICATIONS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Compensation for temporary employees is established by the City and reflected on the <br /> City's publicly posted Temporary, Part-time/Seasonal Classification Salary Structure. <br /> The State of California has issued a minimum wage increase effective January 1, 2018, <br /> which increases the State's minimum wage from the current $10.50 per hour to $11.00 <br /> per hour. Adjustments are necessary to the current Temporary, Part-time/Seasonal <br /> Classification Salary Structure to conform to the minimum wage increase. Staff is also <br /> recommending the addition of certain temporary classifications to enhance consistency <br /> and clarity in temporary and seasonal employee classification and compensation. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt a resolution approving changes to the attached temporary salary schedule as <br /> recommended. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The financial impact as a result of the implementation of this recommendation is an <br /> estimated cost of$6,000. The FY2017/18 Operating Budget can absorb this increased <br /> expense. <br />
