THE CITY OF 11 <br /> ° :::`L`` CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONs <br /> December 19, 2017 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: AUTHORIZE SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH PUMP REPAIR SERVICE <br /> FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF WELL#5 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Well #5 is one of three potable water production wells owned and operated by the City of <br /> Pleasanton (City). The well failed on November 3, 2017 and must be replaced. The <br /> authorized regional dealer for the replacing the well with the same well pump <br /> manufacturer is Pump Repair Service Co. The City received an estimate from Pump <br /> Repair Service to replace the well for $167,068.36. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Authorize a contract with Pump Repair Service Co to replace Well #5 for $167,068.36. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> CIP 17140 Annual Pump and Motor Repairs is funded in FY17/18 for $110,000 and CIP <br /> 18108 Water Pump and Motor Upsizing is funded in FY17/18 with $280,000. The <br /> combined unencumbered balances from both CIP's is sufficient to cover the well <br /> replacement cost. <br />
