Y,;Itl CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£AS4NTON. <br /> December 19, 2017 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY DELTA <br /> ENGINEERING SALES, LLC. FOR THE AUTOMATED METER <br /> INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT, CIP NO. 13116 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) project consisted of replacing 21,192 water <br /> meters with new non-mechanical meter technology outfitted with Aclara Meter <br /> Transmitter Units (MTUs), retrofitting 581 existing mechanical water meters with Aclara <br /> MTUs, and installing new composite meter box lids throughout the system for proper <br /> signal propagation. City Council awarded this construction contract on June 7, 2016. <br /> Construction of the project is complete and ready for City Council acceptance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the project as complete. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the project. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The original contract was awarded for $7,181,782 with a $950,000 amendment <br /> approved by Council on May 2, 2017, bringing the total contract value to $8,131,782. <br /> Expenditures totaled $8,099,667.79 and were offset with meter recycling credits of <br /> $154,180.22, yielding a net contract expenditure of$7,945,487.57. The remaining <br /> balance of$186,294.43 will transfer back to the Water Enterprise Fund. <br />
