CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 670 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER V OF TITLE V OF THE <br /> ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RELATING <br /> TO TRUCK ROUTES BY THE DELETION THEREOF AND THE <br /> ADDITION OF A NEW CHAPTER V RELATING TO THE <br /> REGULATION OF THE USE OF CITY STREETS BY <br /> COMMERCIAL VEHICLES <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> I <br /> <br /> Title V of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is <br />hereby amended by the deletion therefrom of Chapter V and the <br />addition in its place of a new Chapter V, said new chapter as <br />added to provide as follows: <br /> <br /> "Chapter V Commercial Vehicle Regulations <br /> Article 1. <br /> <br /> Prohibitions on Certain Streets <br /> <br /> ~5-5.01 Intent· The provisions of this chapter are intended <br /> to regulate and in some cases prohibit use of City streets <br /> by commercial vehicles exceeding a certain gross weight, <br /> thereby ameliorating problems presently caused by such use <br /> relating to dust, noise, traffic congestion and inordinately <br /> high and excessive wear and tear on City streets not <br /> designed or constructed for such use <br /> <br /> ~5-5.02 Prohibition. No person shall operate any commercial <br /> vehicle, as said term is defined in the California Vehicle <br /> Code, having a gross weight, including load, in excess of <br /> three (3) tons on the following streets within the City of <br /> Pleasanton: <br /> <br /> (a) Santa Rita Road <br /> (b) Hopyard Road <br /> (c) Bernal Avenue <br /> (d) Vineyard Avenue <br /> (e) Kaiser Road westerly <br /> <br /> The prohibition contained herein shall become effective <br /> when the streets enumerated herein are designated by <br /> appropriate signs. <br /> <br /> ~5-5.03 Exceptions· When the streets enumerated in S5-5.02 <br /> are designated by appropriate signs the same are declared <br /> to be streets the use of which is prohibited by any <br /> commercial vehicle as said term is defined in the California <br /> Vehicle Code except when necessary for the purpose of making <br /> pickups or deliveries of goods, wares and merchandise from <br /> <br /> <br />
