<br />height. The barrier shall be masonry and the side facing Foothill Road shall be <br />faced with natural stone. The design of the snake barrier shall be subject to the re- <br />view and approval of the Planning Department prior to the issuance of an on-site <br />grading permit. <br /> <br />15. On lots 1-12, the use of retaining walls is discouraged and retaining walls over <br />three (3) ft. in height are not allowed. All retaining walls visible from Foothill <br />Road shall be faced with natural materials, such as natural stone, wood, etc. and <br />shall be screened with native landscaping. The stepping of retaining walls shall <br />be encouraged. With the exception of those retaining walls shown on Exhibit "A", <br />no retaining walls shall be located within a tree canopy of a tree to be retained <br />shown on Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Landscaoinf?: <br /> <br />16. The developer shall comply with the recommendations of the tree report prepared <br />by HortScience dated "August 13, 1999". No tree trimming or pruning other than <br />that specified in the tree report shall occur. The developer shall arrange for the <br />horticultural consultant to conduct a field inspection prior to issuance of grading <br />permits to ensure that all recommendations have been properly implemented. The <br />consultant shall certifY in writing that such recommendations have been followed. <br /> <br />17. Prior to occupancy of any of the homes on lots 1-12, the developer shall install five <br />36 inch box valley oak trees, with irrigation, on the East Bay Regional Park Dis- <br />trict property near the deceleration lane shown on Exhibit "A". The location of the <br />trees is subject to the review and approval of the East Bay Regional Park District <br />and the Planning Department prior to Tentative Map approval. <br /> <br />18. Prior to Tentative Map approval, the developer shall revise the Foothill Road plans <br />and shall show improvements based on the interim Foothill Road alignment, in- <br />cluding median landscaping and irrigation improvements, from the deceleration <br />lane to the entrance of Foothill High School. The exact location and size of the <br />median as well as the plant species, size, and location, and irrigation type and loca- <br />tion is subject to the review and approval of the City Engineer and the Planning <br />Director. <br /> <br />19. Prior to the occupancy of the homes on lots 1-12, the developer shall install ten 24 <br />inch box coast live oaks, with irrigation, on the East Bay Regional Park District <br />property near the northern private road shown on Exhibit "A".
