SUB-CONTRACT NO. <br /> EEA-SA-214 <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, dated as of September 30, 1971, by and between <br /> the County of Alameda, a political subdivision of the State of <br /> California (herein "Program Agent") and, City of Pleasanton <br /> <br /> (herein "Sub-Agent") , <br /> <br /> W I TNES SETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Public Law 92-54, enacted July 12, 1971, known as <br /> <br /> the "Emergency Employment Act of 1971" (herein "Act") provides that <br /> the purpose of said Act is to provide unemployed and underemployed <br /> persons with transitional employment in jobs providing needed public <br /> <br /> · ~ <br /> services during times of h~ b~ m <br /> g le ployment and, wherever feasible, <br /> <br /> related training and manpower services to enable such persons to <br /> move into employment or training not supported under this Act; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the'County of Alameda has applied to the United States <br /> Department of Labor for funding Dursuant to the Act, for a geographi- <br /> cal program area consisting of the County of Alameda, excluding the <br /> Cities of Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont and Hayward; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on September 30, 1971, the Department of Labor approved <br /> the foregoing application; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under the terms of the application for funding, the <br />Program Agent warrants and certifies to the Department of Labor <br />that said Program Agent has the authority by statute or will have <br />authority by agreement, to require the Sub-Agents and employing <br />agencies receiving funds to adhere to conditions and requirements <br />established for the use of the funds granted under Public Law 92-54; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Program Agent and the Sub-Agent, for and <br /> <br />in consideration of the mutual promises and agreements herein con- <br />tained, agree ss follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Funding. <br /> <br /> Program Agent will provide to Sub-Agent funds granted to <br />Program Agent under Public Law 92-54, in accordance with the con- <br /> <br />ditions, requirements and limitations established for the use of <br /> <br />said funds. <br /> <br /> <br />
