The issuance or granting of a permit or approval of plans <br /> and specifications shall not be deemed or construed to be a permit <br /> for or an approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of <br /> this chapter. No permit presuming to give authority to violate <br /> or cancel the provisions of this chapter shall be valid, except <br /> insofar as the work or use which it authorizes is lawful. <br /> <br /> Article 2 <br /> Requirements <br /> <br /> §2-18.48 Location <br /> <br /> (a) Neither pool water line nor pool equipment shall <br /> be placed closer than five (5) feet to any property line. <br /> <br /> (b) Pool walls placed closer than five (5) feet <br /> <br /> to a structure shall require investigation and written approval by <br /> a licensed civil engineer. A copy of this investigation and <br /> approval shall be furnished to the administrative authority <br /> prior to issuance of the pool permit. <br /> <br /> (c) No pool shall be placed within required front <br />i or side-yard setbacks without first being approved by the Board <br />i~ of Adjustments through variance procedures required under Chapter <br /> <br />Ii 2 of Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> ~2-18.49 Pool Fittings. <br /> <br /> Pool fittings shall be of an approved type and design as <br /> <br />~! to be appropriate for the specific application. <br /> <br /> (a) Surface skimmers. Approved surface skimmers are <br /> required and shall be installed in strict accordance with the <br /> manufacturer's installation instructions. Skimmers shall be <br /> <br /> installed on the basis of one per 1000 square feet of surface <br />i~ area, or fraction thereof, and shall be designed for a flow <br /> rate of at least 25 G.P.M. per skimmer. <br /> <br /> (b) Main outlet. An approved main outlet shall be <br /> <br />:i provided at the deepest point in every pool for emptying and/or <br /> circulation of the water in the pool. For other than portable <br /> pools this outlet shall be installed by means of an approved <br /> prefabricated assembly which incorporates a removable grate <br /> or antivortex plate and which also provides for a hydrostatic <br /> <br /> <br />
