Presentation of a commendation celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Gingerbread Preschool <br /> Councilmember Narum invited Nicole Thomas to the podium. On behalf of City Council, she was <br /> presented with a commendation celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Gingerbread Preschool. <br /> Ms. Thomas thanked the City and Council for the commendation, acknowledged their teachers <br /> and staff as well as parents, for their work and support. <br /> David Weinberger, Recreation Coordinator, Gingerbread Preschool, presented attending staff and <br /> board members and thanked Council for the.commendation. <br /> 13. Public Comment <br /> Jorge Victoria, President of the Tulancingo, Mexico, Sister City Association, reported the City of <br /> Pleasanton donated two fire vehicles to the Tulancingo Fire Department and thanked the City and <br /> Council for the donation. He reported on the donation process and displayed a short presentation <br /> of key players, transportation providers, refurbishing the vehicles, and the result of collaborative <br /> efforts. He presented certificates of appreciation to Mayor Thorne, City Manager Nelson Fialho, <br /> and Fire Chief Ruben Torres. <br /> Mike Weddle commended the City for its work with bicycle lanes and slurry-sealing, City roads. <br /> He expressed concerns slurry may not be adequate for some roads and wanted additional <br /> information in terms of the specific improvements planned. He hoped the Costco project will not <br /> interfere with some much-needed improvements. <br /> . Mayor Thorne advised him he will ask staff to follow-up with him. <br /> John Butera spoke regarding constant changes and referenced.the Costco project and declining <br /> businesses such as the mall. 'He reported the infrastructure is already built at the mall and <br /> suggested moving Costco to the mall.
