CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SPECIAL AND REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />October 3, 2017 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Thorne called a special meeting of the City Council to order at the hour of 6:00 p.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Present: Councilmembers Brown, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br />Absent: Councilmember Narum <br />PUBLIC COMMENT — None <br />The meeting adjourned to Closed Session for the following purpose: <br />CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR pursuant to Government Code §54957.6: <br />Agency designated representatives: Nelson Fialho <br />Unrepresented Employees: Management and Confidential Employees <br />The special meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m. <br />Mayor Thorne called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. <br />Councilmember Brown led the pledge of allegiance and provided opening remarks. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Present: Councilmembers Brown, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br />Absent: Councilmember Narum <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORTS <br />City Attorney Daniel Sodergren stated that no action was taken in Closed Session. <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />Mayor Thorne announced Items No. 9 and 10 will be heard in reverse order. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />City Manager <br />1. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with <br />Townsend Public Affairs in the amount of $120,000 to perform Legislative Advocacy Services and <br />a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tri -Valley Cities of Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon and <br />Town of Danville to equally share the expense related to the agreement <br />Community Development <br />2. Ratifed Nancy Allen as the Planning Commission representative to the Downtown Specific Plan <br />Update Task Force <br />
