THE CITY OF <br />:i:�� li <br />j�LEAS���4NTONC <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />6 <br />November 7, 2017 <br />Engineering <br />Landscape Architect Division <br />TITLE: APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW BIDS, AND AWARD <br />CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO GUERRA CONSTRUCTION GROUP IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $326,760 FOR THE PIONEEER CEMETERY STORAGE <br />AREA IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, CIP NO. 16446 <br />SUMMARY <br />Plans for the Pioneer Cemetery Storage Area Improvements, CIP No. 16446, were <br />completed and advertised for construction bid at the end of September 2017. Four bids <br />were received by the advertising bid deadline on October 19, 2017. Bids ranged from a <br />low of $326,760, to a high of $469,585. Staff is recommending the contract be awarded <br />to Guerra Construction Group for the low bid amount of $326,760. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve plans and specifications for this project. <br />2. Review the bids and award the construction contract to Guerra Construction Group <br />for the low bid amount of $326,760. <br />3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the project contract. <br />4. Authorize the Director of Engineering to approve and execute any required contract <br />change order(s) up to a not -to -exceed amount of $33,000 (approximately 10% of the <br />construction contract) for unforeseen yet necessary related work. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Funding for this project is included in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget, <br />CIP No. 16446. The anticipated total expenditure for this project is $401,908, including <br />design, construction, contingency, etc. See Attachment 2 for a summary of funding and <br />anticipated expenditures. <br />
