THE CITY OF <br /> ‘21, <br /> IW l u,00e I CIT( COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTTONo <br /> October 17, 2017 <br /> Human Resources <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED <br /> MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON AND THE PLEASANTON POLICE OFFICERS' <br /> ASSOCIATION WITH TERM ENDING MAY 31, 2020 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Pleasanton and the <br /> Pleasanton Police Officers' Association (PPOA) expired on May 31, 2017 <br /> Representatives from PPOA and the City of Pleasanton met and conferred in good faith <br /> and have agreed to a successor agreement. The City's practice is to introduce the key <br /> elements of the proposed MOU, receive input from the public and allow for open <br /> discussion This public input process was conducted at the October 3, 2017 meeting <br /> The final step is for the City Council to approve the successor agreement that expires <br /> May 31, 2020 <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council adopt a resolution approving the tentative agreement negotiated <br /> between the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Police Officers' Association. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The financial impact to the City budget as a result of implementing the successor <br /> Memorandum of Understanding is approximately $1 9 million through FY 2019/2020 Of <br /> this amount, a total of$432,000 will impact FY 2017/18 expenditures and staff <br /> anticipates utilizing the General Fund Contingency to address these costs <br /> Submitted by - Fiscal Review Approved by <br /> / Debra Gill Tina Olson Nelson Fialho <br /> Director of Human Resources/ Director of Finance City Manager <br /> Labor Relations <br /> Attachment <br /> 1 Resolution <br />
