CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> October 3, 2017 <br /> City Manager's Office <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH TOWNSEND <br /> PUBLIC AFFAIRS, INC. FOR LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY SERVICES AND <br /> APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH TRI-VALLEY <br /> CITIES OF DUBLIN, LIVERMORE, SAN RAMON AND TOWN OF <br /> DANVILLE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton in collaboration with the Tri-Valley Cities of Dublin, Livermore, <br /> San Ramon and Town of Danville are seeking to retain legislative advocacy services to <br /> implement the Tri-Valley Cities Legislative Framework (Attachment 1). <br /> Legislative advocacy services will assist the Tri-Valley Cities toward building consensus <br /> and a united approach to legislative advocacy for solutions that will serve the residents <br /> and businesses of the Tri-Valley. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve the Professional Services Agreement <br /> with Townsend Public Affairs, Inc.(Attachment 2) and to approve the Memorandum of <br /> Understanding (MOU) with the Tri-Valley Cities of Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon, and <br /> Town of Danville to equally share the expenses related to the Agreement (Attachment <br /> 3). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The proposed Professional Services Agreement with Townsend Public Affairs, Inc. is in <br /> the amount not to exceed $120,000. As outlined in the MOU (Attachment 3), the City's <br /> portion of the legislative advocacy services will not exceed $24,000 annually. Funding is <br /> included in account number 00199101-430101 as part of the FY 2017/18 Operating <br /> Budget. <br />
