THE CITY OF 13 <br />" '••-- t CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PLEASANTON. <br />September 19, 2017 <br />City Manager's Office <br />TITLE: PRESENTATION REGARDING MOBILITY FORWARD TRI -VALLEY <br />PARATRANSIT STUDY BY NELSON NYGAARD CONSULTING ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />SUMMARY <br />In early 2017, the City of Pleasanton in collaboration with the Livermore Amador Valley <br />Transit Authority (LAVTA) launched a comprehensive study of paratransit services <br />throughout the Tri -Valley called Mobility Forward. Tri -Valley Paratransit Assessment. <br />The study is intended to evaluate current service delivery and determine how to best <br />meet the needs of residents for today and into the future. It includes a review of <br />demographics, ridership and service level trends and will forecast future service needs <br />and provide opportunities for engagement of stakeholders and the community and <br />culminate with several recommendations and options for each governing body to <br />consider for implementation. The overarching goal of the study is to continue to meet <br />paratransit needs of tri -valley residents and identify opportunities for greater partnership <br />between the City and LAVTA, and/or opportunities for consolidation or re -organization <br />of paratransit services in the Tri -Valley. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Council receive a presentation on the status of the <br />ongoing Mobility Forward. Tri -Valley Paratransit Study. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The Professional Services Agreement with Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Inc. <br />is for an amount not to exceed $170,125. The City of Pleasanton's portion of the cost of <br />the study is 35% ($59,543.75) as well as a 10% contingency ($5,954.38) for a total of <br />$60,138.13. Funding was included in account number 45250356-430101 as part of the <br />FY 2017/18 Operating Budget. Recommendations from the study with financial <br />implications will be addressed when the City Council considers those final <br />recommendations in early 2018. <br />
