THE CITY OF 9 <br />r"i - - On CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PLEASANTON. <br />September 19, 2017 <br />Library Services <br />TITLE: APPROVE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON AND THE FRIENDS OF THE PLEASANTON LIBRARY <br />SUMMARY <br />This memorandum of understanding ("MOU") between the City of Pleasanton ("City") and <br />the Friends of the Pleasanton Library ("Friends") establishes the roles and responsibilities <br />between the Friends and the City concerning Friends support of the Pleasanton Public <br />Library ("Library") and the operation and management of the Friends use of Library <br />equipment, resources and space. This MOU encapsulates the positive relationship <br />between the two organizations. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve a memorandum of understanding between the City of Pleasanton and the <br />Friends of the Pleasanton Library. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The Friends contribute money to the Library to fund many programs and services that <br />further the Library's mission and goals. The Library supports the day -today operations <br />of the Friends through its existing budget, space, and resources. <br />
