Does the Planning Commission support granting a parking credit? <br />Commissioner O'Connor stated that the Commission went down this the last time and <br />stated that it would not do that anymore. <br />Chair Allen agreed and recalled that the Commission said it has to be really protective <br />of that. <br />Commissioner O'Connor stated that what is being done here is taking a very small <br />building that has a very large parking lot and completely building out the parking lot and <br />leaving no room for parking. He said that he is not in favor of this and that parking that <br />is required for the retail building should be provided. <br />Commissioners Ritter, Piper, Nagler, and Chair Allen all agreed. <br />Commissioner Nagler recalled that there is a possibility that they come back with a very <br />concrete plan as was suggested to create parking that is accessible. <br />H_ Does the Planning Commission support the in -lieu proposal for the <br />commercial /office building? <br />Chair Allen stated that this is the concept of credit for the proposal. She indicated that <br />the Commission wants appropriate parking for the site. <br />1. Does the Planning Commission support the use of the 20 -foot deep driveway <br />approaches as parking for the townhouses? <br />Chair Allen stated that she understands the normal rules for apartments also generally <br />apply to townhouses. She inquired if that is for parking or for guest parking. <br />Mr. Luchini replied that it is for guest parking. <br />Chair Allen inquired if the new rule is one guest parking spot per seven units or seven <br />bedrooms. <br />Commissioner O'Connor replied that it is for seven units. <br />Chair Allen commented that rounding -up, it would require one guest parking spot. <br />Mr. Weinstein stated that what staff is asking for is the Commission's level of comfort on <br />dimensions of the guest parking in the context of a sedan being approximately 14 feet <br />long and a big SUV being 18 feet long or so.
