P13 -1987 and P13 -1988, U -Haul <br />Request for a determination of substantial compliance with an approved <br />Design Review application for a U -Haul moving, rental, and storage <br />facility at 5555 Sunol Boulevard. Zoning for the property is I -P (Industrial <br />Park) District. <br />This item was removed from the Agenda. <br />6. PUBLIC HEARING AND OTHER MATTERS <br />a. P14 -0829, Greg Munn, Design Tech Associates /George and Mary <br />Schmitt <br />Application for Administrative Design Review approval to construct the <br />following at the existing dwelling located at 554 Hamilton Way: (1) an <br />approximately 781 - square -foot single -story addition to the rear of the <br />house; (2) an 88- square -foot, 13 -foot, 6 -inch tall covered front porch; <br />and (3) an approximately 663 - square -foot second -story addition with an <br />approximately 217 - square -foot second -floor deck to the west of the <br />house. Zoning for the property is R -1 -6,500 (One - Family Residential) <br />District. <br />This item was continued from the August 13, 2014 meeting. <br />Jennifer Wallis presented the staff report and described the layout, scope, and key <br />elements of the proposal. <br />Commissioner Piper inquired how many homes there are in the original Rosepointe <br />neighborhood. <br />Ms. Wallis replied that there are about 53 homes. <br />Commissioner Allen referred to the letter from Ms. Bengtson, dated November 4, 2014, <br />and asked staff to clarify that the statement that the two inoperable and opaque <br />windows overlooking Ms. Bengtson's property would not require any process to convert <br />to operable clear glass in the future. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES, November 12, 2014 Page 5 of 35 <br />
