Mr. McKay said yes to both requests and added that they would be there from beginning to <br />end. He indicated that he cannot guarantee 100 - percent compliance but that every patron <br />will know and be informed. <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br />Commissioner Piper stated that she was in favor of approving the application. She <br />indicated that it was a wonderful idea and would enhance Downtown vitality. She noted <br />that it was great to have Pleasanton residents establishing a business in the Downtown and <br />thanked the McKays for doing so. <br />Commissioner Allen agreed. She stated that it was a wonderful project and that <br />Pleasanton needs revitalization in that end of town. She indicated that she is comfortable <br />with the proposal, with the additional conditions. <br />Commissioner Balch stated that staff did an excellent task and added that he is supportive <br />of the application with the proposed changes addressing the issues. <br />Commissioner Ritter stated that he is supportive of this proposal, a great addition right next <br />to City Hall and which would contribute to more economic vitality. <br />Chair O'Connor echoed the Commissioners' comments and indicated his support for the <br />project. <br />Commissioner Ritter moved to make the required Conditional Use Permit findings <br />as listed in the staff report and to approve Case P14 -1139, subject to the <br />Conditions of Approval as listed in Exhibit A of the staff report, with the addition <br />of conditions that the applicant implement measures to ensure that parking <br />demand does not spill over into private parking lots and to require the <br />designation of a smoking area, if deemed necessary. <br />Commissioner Balch seconded the motion. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE: <br />AYES: Commissioners Allen, Balch, O'Connor, Piper, and Ritter <br />NOES: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />RECUSED: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Resolution No. PC- 2014 -40 approving Case P14 -1139 was entered and adopted as <br />motioned. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES, August 27, 2014 Page 7 of 44 <br />
