3. MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />There were no members of the audience wishing to address the Planning Commission. <br />4. REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Janice Stern advised that staff is requesting that Items 7 and 8 of the Agenda be <br />considered before the Commission and staff leave for the field trip. <br />Acting Chair Pearce indicated that Item 7 Matters Initiated by Commission Members, <br />and Item 8. Matters for Commission's Review /Action /Information will be moved ahead of <br />Item 6, Public Hearing and Other Matters. <br />5. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />There were no items to consider. <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />No discussion was held or action taken. <br />8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW /ACTION <br />a. Future Planning Calendar <br />No discussion was held or action taken. <br />b. Actions of the City Council <br />Brian Dolan informed the Commission that at its October 16, 2012 meeting, the City <br />Council considered an amendment to the Growth Management Program, Chapter 17.36 <br />of the Pleasanton Municipal Code. He indicated that he wanted to take a few minutes <br />to explain this. <br />Mr. Dolan stated that there has been a program in the Housing Element, which the <br />Planning Commission saw and voted on, which indicated that the Commission would <br />revisit the Growth Management Program as the Housing Element moved forward. He <br />noted that there was no time line on that, but a couple of City Councilmembers <br />expressed that it was very important to address the issue before they left office. <br />Mr. Dolan continued that the item was presented to the Council, who asked staff to <br />essentially implement an interim change which was being considered since the City lost <br />its housing cap, to change the annual allotment from a straight 350 per year to the <br />Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA) number divided by the number of years <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES, October 24, 2012 Page 2 of 7 <br />
