THE CITY OF _• <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTONs <br /> July 18, 2017 <br /> Information Technology <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A PURCHASE ORDER WITH PURSUIT NORTH IN THE <br /> AMOUNT OF $267,851 TO UPGRADE MOBILE DATA COMPUTERS (MDC) <br /> AND REPLACE MOUNTING SYSTEM IN POLICE FLEET <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Pleasanton Police Department safety vehicles are equipped with Mobile Data Computers <br /> (MDC's) for the purpose of meeting daily activities such as searching secure law <br /> enforcement databases, access to computer-aided dispatching system, report writing, <br /> etc. Utilizing these technologies require ruggedized portable computer systems, secured <br /> mounting systems, and docking stations that allow the MDC to be removed for additional <br /> mobility and use by officers when away from the vehicle. Currently a fleet of 25 patrol <br /> SUV's, 4 CSO vehicles, 4 specialty vehicles, 3 additional vehicles (DARE, pool cars), 1 <br /> Supervisor SUV, and 5 MDC's for patrol sergeants; are scheduled for replacement. <br /> Information Technology Department conducted a request for proposal process (RFP) and <br /> staff is recommending awarding the Purchase Order agreement to Pursuit North in the <br /> amount of$267,851 to complete this project. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve a purchase order with Pursuit North in the amount of$267,851 <br /> 2. Authorize the use of$267,851 from the Technology Replacement Fund. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to execute the purchase order with Pursuit North <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funds are budgeted and available in the Technology Replacement Fund (Internal <br /> Service Fund # 51612210), for the procurement and installation services of the MDC's. <br />
