MINUTES <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Pleasanton, California <br />March 14, 1966 <br />THE CITY COUNCIL met in Regular Session at 7 :30 P.M. on the above date with Mayor <br />Long presiding. <br />ROLL CALL by the City Clerk evidenced the following attendance: Councilmen Bubics, <br />Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long were present. Mr. Fales, City Manager; <br />Mr. Struthers, City Attorney; Mr. Campbell, City Engineer; and Mrs. Woodward, City <br />Clerk; were present. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG was led by Mayor Long. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that <br />the minutes of February 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th and December 20th be approved as <br />corrected. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL <br />Mr. Daniel Pons asked if the Public Hearing scheduled on the agenda was the one <br />for the Arroyo del Valle Parkway. Mr. Fales stated that it was for the extension <br />of Vine Street. Mr. Pons stated that it was printed in The Times that it was the <br />Arroyo del Valle. Mr. Fales explained that the public hearing scheduled for this <br />meeting that was published in The Times was for the extension of Vine Street and <br />not the Arroyo del Valle Parkway and any other article regarding this matter was <br />in error. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Amendment to Ord. No. 309 re: precise plan lines and plan line for new street north <br />of Vineyard Ave. <br />Mayor Long declared the public hearing on this matter, the extension of Vine <br />Street, open. <br />Mr. Fales read both the report of the Planning Commission and the Staff Report. <br />Mr. Campbell displayed maps showing the extension of Vine Street that ran parallel <br />to and north of Vineyard Ave., south of the Arroyo del Valle, east of First Street <br />and terminated in a cul -de -sac. <br />Mr. Joseph Vallarino, Vineyard Avenue, asked why Vine Street could not be ex- <br />tended to First Street and Mr. Campbell explained that this would create a traffic <br />hazard. <br />Mr. Madden, of Vineyard Ave., asked who would pay for this street and Mr. Fales <br />explained several methods by which the property owners could choose to pay for this. <br />Mayor Long declared a recess at 8 :35 P.M. in order that the property owners <br />involved could come to the council table to view the map. <br />Mayor Long reconvened the meeting at 8:40 P.M. <br />It was moved by Councilman Bubics and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that <br />the Public Hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Councilman McWilliams introduced Ordinance No. 446, amending Ordinance No. 309, <br />providing for the establishment of precise plan lines for future streets and street <br />widenings. <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that <br />the reading of Ordinance No. 446, be waived. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Councilman Harding introduced Ordinance No. 447, an ordinance establishing a <br />specific plan line for a proposed new street to be established parallel to and <br />north of Vineyard Avenue, south of the Arroyo del Valle and east of First Street. <br />
