Matters for the Information of the Council <br />Mr. Fales read a letter from Haley, Schenone, Tucker, Birchfield and Smith, Attor- <br />neys, representing the Windsor Land Company, 2200 East 14th St., San Leandro, <br />stating that Windsor Land Company will reimburse the City of Pleasanton in an <br />amount not to exceed $1,500.00 for work performed by Livingston and Blayney for <br />the City of Pleasanton in connection with the review of the Windsor Land Company's <br />development proposals for the Hansen and Giger property on Hopyard Road. <br />It was moved by Councilman Bubics and seconded by Councilman Harding that the <br />arrangement as presented by Haley, Schenone, Tucker, Birchfield and Smith, be <br />acceptable. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mr. Fales announced that the City of Livermore was co- hosting with the City of <br />Pleasanton at the Mayor's Conference meeting on February 2nd. <br />Mr. Fales extended the invitation from the Kaiser Aluminum Corporation to the City <br />Council to a viewing of the models of the Kaiser Research Buildings to be located <br />in Pleasanton, to be held at the Kaiser Center in Oakland at 4 :00 P.M. on February <br />3rd. Mr. Fales stated that this viewing will be followed by a dinner for the <br />Councilmen. <br />Mr. Fales reported that the terms of two members on the Board of Appeals will expire <br />on January 25, 1966, and an Executive Session has been scheduled in the event the <br />City Council wishes to discuss these appointments. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Mr. Fales read a letter from Mrs. Birdie Meier, president of the Twin Valley Head <br />Start Organization, inviting the City Council to their meeting on January 31, 1966, <br />at 7:30 P.M. at the Kottinger Social Hall. Mayor Long asked Mr. Fales to advise <br />Mrs. Meier that the Council has scheduled a Study Session on that date and there- <br />fore would not be able to attend. <br />ORDINANCES FOR ADOPTION (second reading) were not scheduled for this meeting. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilman Gerton asked if an invitation to annex areas north of Highway 50 to the <br />City of Pleasanton had been extended. Mr. Fales stated that this matter involved <br />a great deal of statistical information regarding revenue, assessed valuation, in- <br />dicated growth, increased services cost to the City and many other factors. He <br />indicated that perhaps by the middle of February this report would be ready for <br />presentation. <br />Councilman Gerton also inquired about the future boundaries plan of Pleasanton and <br />Livermore. Mr. Fales advised that this will be the major agenda item on the Cities' <br />joint council meeting on February 16th. <br />Councilman Harding expressed an interest in the City purchasing the next lot south <br />of the property recently acquired from Mr. & Mrs. Rossi, for the new street. <br />It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman Bubics that the City <br />Attorney be directed to obtain an appraisal on the next house south of the former <br />Rossi property. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Long asked the Councilmen if they would be interested in having Mr. W. L. <br />MacCabe, Area Rehabilitation Loan Specialist, make a. presentation to the Council <br />regarding low cost housing. The Councilmen expressed a desire to invite Mr. <br />MacCabe to speak to them regarding this matter. <br />Mayor Long stated that appointments to the Board of Appeals needed no further <br />consideration and therefore did not call the scheduled Executive Session. <br />2. <br />
