MINUTES <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Pleasanton, California <br />February 23, 1965 <br />THE CITY COUNCIL met in Regular Session at 8 :00 P.M. on the above date with Mayor <br />Long Presiding. <br />ROLL CALL by the City Clerk evidenced the following attendance: Councilmen Bubics <br />Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long were present. Councilman Cairo was absent. Mr. <br />Fales, City Manager, Mr. Struthers, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, City Engineer, and <br />Mrs. Woodward, City Clerk were present. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG was led by Mayor Long. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL. <br />Mr. Hughes, representing the Livermore- Pleasanton Kawanis Club requested that the <br />Mayor be authorized to sign a proclamation designating each first week in March as <br />a "Honor your Law Enforcement Agency" week. <br />It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that the <br />Mayor be authorized to sign a proclamation designating each first week in March as <br />"Honor your Law Enforcement Agency Week <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Cairo. <br />CONSIDERATION OF SPECIAL BENEFIT AREA 7 -1 of Zone 7, ALAMEDA COUNTY.. FLOOD CONTROL <br />AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />Mr. Fales stated that the City Council and the City Planning Commission met in joint <br />study session on February 16th with members of the staff and the Board of Directors <br />of Zone No. 7. Mr. Fales stated that the proposed Special Benefit Area 7 -1 was <br />explained and discussed at this meeting. Since the City Council and Planning Com- <br />mission may well be involved in the collection of fees for this Area for present or <br />future portions lying within the City, Zone 7 is anxious that the City approve of <br />the Area. Mr. Fales suggested that a resolution be passed approving the proposed <br />Special Benefit Area 7 -1 and recommending that the Area be formed. <br />It was moved by Councilman McWilliams and seconded by Councilman Harding that Res- <br />olution No. 65 -26, approving Special Benefit Area 7 -1 and recommending that Zone No. <br />7 form this area, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long. <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Cairo <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report of the Planning Commission re: One -year time extension from February 20, <br />1965, for Tentative Subdivision Map, Tract No. 2591 (Pleasanton Valley) <br />Mr. Fales read the report of the Planning Commission which recommended that the sub- <br />divider be granted a one year time extension to February 20, 1966. <br />It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman Bubics that Resolution <br />No. 65 -27, approving a one -year time extension to February 20, 1966 for Tentative <br />Subdivision Map, Tract No. 2591, Pleasanton Valley, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Cairo <br />Report of the Planning Commission re: Amendment of Tentative Subdivision Map, Tract <br />No. 2591 (Pleasanton Valley), increasing size of public park from 1.6 to 2.00 acres <br />Mr. Fales read the report of the Planning Commission. Mr. Fales stated that after <br />review and discussion of the proposed amendment the Planning Commission approved <br />it at the meeting of February 10, 1965. <br />REPORT of the Planning Commission re: Amendment of Tentative Subdivision Tract No. <br />2659 (Rosepointe), adding street names. <br />Mr. Fales read the report of the Planning Commission dated February 19th. He stated <br />that the following street names were assigned to Tentative Map for Tract No. 2659 <br />and Cleared by Alameda County. <br />
