MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL Pleasanton, California February 23, 1965 THE CITY COUNCIL met in Regular Session at 8 :00 P.M. on the above date with Mayor Long Presiding. ROLL CALL by the City Clerk evidenced the following attendance: Councilmen Bubics Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long were present. Councilman Cairo was absent. Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Struthers, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, City Engineer, and Mrs. Woodward, City Clerk were present. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG was led by Mayor Long. MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL. Mr. Hughes, representing the Livermore- Pleasanton Kawanis Club requested that the Mayor be authorized to sign a proclamation designating each first week in March as a "Honor your Law Enforcement Agency" week. It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that the Mayor be authorized to sign a proclamation designating each first week in March as "Honor your Law Enforcement Agency Week The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Cairo. CONSIDERATION OF SPECIAL BENEFIT AREA 7 -1 of Zone 7, ALAMEDA COUNTY.. FLOOD CONTROL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT Mr. Fales stated that the City Council and the City Planning Commission met in joint study session on February 16th with members of the staff and the Board of Directors of Zone No. 7. Mr. Fales stated that the proposed Special Benefit Area 7 -1 was explained and discussed at this meeting. Since the City Council and Planning Com- mission may well be involved in the collection of fees for this Area for present or future portions lying within the City, Zone 7 is anxious that the City approve of the Area. Mr. Fales suggested that a resolution be passed approving the proposed Special Benefit Area 7 -1 and recommending that the Area be formed. It was moved by Councilman McWilliams and seconded by Councilman Harding that Res- olution No. 65 -26, approving Special Benefit Area 7 -1 and recommending that Zone No. 7 form this area, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long. NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Cairo REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS Report of the Planning Commission re: One -year time extension from February 20, 1965, for Tentative Subdivision Map, Tract No. 2591 (Pleasanton Valley) Mr. Fales read the report of the Planning Commission which recommended that the sub- divider be granted a one year time extension to February 20, 1966. It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman Bubics that Resolution No. 65 -27, approving a one -year time extension to February 20, 1966 for Tentative Subdivision Map, Tract No. 2591, Pleasanton Valley, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Cairo Report of the Planning Commission re: Amendment of Tentative Subdivision Map, Tract No. 2591 (Pleasanton Valley), increasing size of public park from 1.6 to 2.00 acres Mr. Fales read the report of the Planning Commission. Mr. Fales stated that after review and discussion of the proposed amendment the Planning Commission approved it at the meeting of February 10, 1965. REPORT of the Planning Commission re: Amendment of Tentative Subdivision Tract No. 2659 (Rosepointe), adding street names. Mr. Fales read the report of the Planning Commission dated February 19th. He stated that the following street names were assigned to Tentative Map for Tract No. 2659 and Cleared by Alameda County.
