THE CITY OF 1 9 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON. <br /> June 20, 2017 <br /> City Manager <br /> TITLE: A PRESENTATION ON THE RESULTS OF A COMMUNITY SURVEY <br /> REGARDING VARIOUS ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH THE DRAFT CIVIC <br /> CENTER/LIBRARY MASTER PLAN. <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The purpose of conducting this survey was to ascertain community opinion about key <br /> issues relating to the Civic Center/Library Master Plan. The survey included questions <br /> about the general direction of the City, the preferred characteristics of the downtown <br /> area, general and specific concerns about the condition of the Civic Center structures, <br /> the size of the library, planned and potential changes to the land use plan for the Bernal <br /> property, components of a potential new civic center that are important to the <br /> community, the level of interest in relocation of the civic center and library or rebuilding <br /> on the existing site, and the level of support for various funding measures. A summary <br /> of the responses is provided in this report and the Consultant's presentation of the <br /> results is attached. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends that the Council listen to the presentation and ask any questions they <br /> may have regarding the methodology and results of the survey and provide direction to <br /> staff on how to proceed. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There are no financial impacts associated with reviewing the survey results. <br />
