The Director of Public <br /> Safety shall prepare all rules and regulations needed <br /> to implement this article and the Vehicle Code of the <br /> State of California relating to bicycle licensing. <br /> <br /> Sec. 4-2.42 Licenses Issued Under Previous Ordinance. All <br /> licenses issued by the City of Pleasanton pursuant to <br /> previous licensing regulations and valid on the effective <br /> date of this ordinance shall remain in effect until their ex- <br /> piration date. <br /> <br /> Sec. 4-2.43 Operation. No person shall operate a bicycle <br /> within the City in a manner which endangers the life <br /> or limb of any pedestrian or other bicyclist. No person <br /> shall park or let stand or leave unattended a bicycle <br /> upon the public sidewalks of the City so as to block <br /> or interfere with the use of said sidewalks by any <br /> pedestrian. <br /> <br /> Sec. 4-2.44 Racing and Endurance Contests. No person riding <br /> or operating a bicycle upon a public street, sidewalk <br /> or any other area open to the public shall participate <br /> in any race, speed or endurance contest unless such <br /> race, speed or endurance contest has been granted <br /> written permission by the City Manager and is conducted <br /> under the supervision of the Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> Sec. 4-2.45 Stunt Riding. Noperson riding or operating a <br /> bicycle upon a public street, sidewalk or any other area <br /> open to the public, shall engage in any acrobatics or <br /> stunt riding. <br /> <br /> Sec. 4-2.46 Riding Two Abreast. Persons riding or operating <br /> bicycles shall not ride or operate bicycles more than <br /> twu (2) abreast, except on paths or parts of a roadway <br /> set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles where it is <br /> safe to do so. <br /> <br />Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after the date of its final passage and adoption. <br /> <br />Section 3.
