All bid documents were found to be in order and past performance by the low bidder was <br /> verified as satisfactory. Staff is recommending award of the construction contract to <br /> Goodland Landscape Construction, Inc., in the amount of$799,338. <br /> Due to the current workload of the Engineering Department construction management <br /> services are also required for the project. These services include material submittal <br /> review, plan and specification clarification if necessary, and inspection services. The City <br /> received proposals for the construction management services from two City on-call <br /> construction management firms; Ghirardelli and Swinerton. Staff is recommending that <br /> the City Council approve the authorization with Swinerton Management and Consulting <br /> in the amount of $56,880. This will allow for a part-time inspector to manage the project <br /> during construction for the length of the project, assuming 20 hours per week. <br /> The total estimated cost to complete the project, including contingency and construction <br /> management and other support services is $952,390. Currently there is $453,845 <br /> available in the CIP 14731.
