THE CITY OF _ <br /> "' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONe <br /> May 16, 2017 <br /> Community Services Department <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF <br /> APPLICATIONS TO THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION <br /> COMMISSION FOR TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS <br /> AND THE ALAMEDA COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR <br /> MEASURE B/BB FUNDS FOR THE PARATRANSIT DOOR-TO-DOOR <br /> PROGRAM <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Transportation Development Act (TDA) provides for the disbursement of funds <br /> through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) for the purpose of providing <br /> community transit services to local residents. Measure B/BB provides for the <br /> disbursement of funds through the Alameda County Transportation Commission <br /> (Alameda CTC) for the purpose of providing community transit services to seniors and <br /> people with disabilities. Eligible agencies like the City of Pleasanton are required <br /> annually to file applications with both the Metropolitan Transportation Commission <br /> (MTC) and the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) to receive <br /> their funding allocation. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager or his designee to <br /> submit an application to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) for <br /> Transportation Development Act (TDA) funds and Alameda County Transportation <br /> Commission (Alameda CTC) for Measure B/BB Funds for the Paratransit "Door-to-Door" <br /> program. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The total cost of the City's Paratransit Door-to-Door program is $732,267. The City <br /> expects to receive funding from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission ($72,092) <br /> and the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Measure B/BB - $281,688). In <br /> addition, the City should also generate another $34,500 in fares, thus reducing the <br /> City's contribution from the General Fund to $343,987 in FY 2017/2018. <br />
