PLEASANTON. CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />May 2, 2017 <br />Engineering <br />Landscape Architect Division <br />TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY CLEARY BROS. <br />LANDSCAPE, INC. FOR THE BERNAL PROPERTY OFF -LEASH DOG <br />PARK PROJECT, CIP NO. 14734 <br />SUMMARY <br />The Bernal Property Off -Leash Dog Park (also known as Cubby's Dog Park) project <br />consisted of constructing an approximately 1.5 acre fenced in dog park with amenities. <br />The fenced area includes an area for small dogs and a larger area for all dogs. The <br />amenities include shade structures, seating, dog play equipment, and landscaping. The <br />dog park is located near the trailhead of the Marilyn Murphy Kane Trail. Construction of <br />the project is complete and ready for acceptance. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Accept the improvements as constructed for the project. <br />2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion. <br />3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $29,835.20 to Cleary Bros. <br />Landscape, Inc. thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br />4. Appropriate $13,461 from the Park Dedication Fee Fund to complete the funding for <br />the project. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Funding for this project at the time of award totaled $600,000. Project expenses totaled <br />$617,601, resulting in a project overage of $17,601 compared to budget. However during <br />project construction, the contractor reimbursed the City $4,140 for the finish carpentry <br />work necessary complete the shade structures to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. <br />Staff recommends that Council appropriate $13,461 from the Park Dedication Fee fund <br />to complete the funding for the project. See Attachment 1 for funding and expenditure <br />details. <br />
