Mayor Thorne invited pubic comment. <br />Sharon Piekarski spoke regarding traffic collisions and accidents related to pedestrians and <br />bicyclists. She referenced the Bike /Pedestrian Master Plan and the identification of high - priority <br />projects and expressed concerns that Council's list does not address West Las Positas which was <br />identified as a top - priority corridor. She asked that the construction of the West Las Positas <br />Bicycle /Pedestrian improvements be added to the priority list at $50,000 for design and $600,000 <br />for construction, in Year 1. <br />Mayor Thorne closed the public hearing. <br />Discussion followed regarding the possibility of amending the work plan to add West Las Positas <br />when the Master Plan is reviewed by Council. <br />MOTION: It was m/s by Olson /Brown to adopt the 2017/2018 City Council Work Plan Priorities. <br />Motion passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Mayor Thorne <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Councilmember Pentin <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br />Councilmember Narum asked that Council consider voting to send a letter, from City Council, to the <br />State regarding upcoming legislation and requested it be added to a future agenda. <br />Mayor Thorne suggested staff present a complete legislative update including the City's position. <br />COUNCIL REPORTS <br />Councilmember Olson reported attending the local government commission annual conference in <br />Yosemite and addressed some of the topics that were covered and ideas considered, including <br />housing, water, transportation, traffic and the impacts to California by the Federal Budget. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:51 p.m. The Council extended a <br />tribute to our nation's men and women serving in the military.
