r-
Karen Gonzales
•ubject: FW: Downtown Parking Plan and Implementation Strategy
SUPPLEMENTAL ENTAL itlh1AT[ °OALL
From: Vera Revelli Provided to the City Council
Sent: Tuesday, April 18, 2017 4:45 PM After Distribution of Packet
To: Karen Diaz; Shweta Bonn
Subject: Downtown Parking Plan and Implementation Strategy ®ate 14- 4- 17
Hello Karen and Shweta,
If it is not too late, I would appreciate if you could include my input, below, for the Council meeting tonight, in
regard to the Parking Study agenda item.
Council members,
In regard to the Downtown Parking Plan and Strategy on your agenda tonight, I would appreciate if your
approval of the staff recommendations your articulate added emphasis on providing significant additional
parking in downtown-making it in the top tier of the long list of strategies from the list of recommendations.
It is the only strategy that will address the shortage created over the last 3-4 years through circumstances with
which you are all familiar(ie - thriving businesses such as McKays' Tap Room opening in spots that have little
or no parking, or Council's waiver of parking requirements for the Pastime Pool location.)
Several smaller lots or a centrally located parking garage are the only way to make up this deficit and get ahead
for a change so as to allow additional activity in downtown.
("believe there are two main theories that have been brought up against doing this: future automation of cars that
would, in theory, make parking obsolete, and making people walk significantly further as they do in more urban
areas. For reasons you have heard, it is important to stand against these influencing the current decision lest
downtown feel the impact of waiting for things that are nowhere near reality.
Thanks for considering these and for the service you all provide to the community,
Vera Revelli
CIVIC CENTER STATION COMMERCIAL LEASING
4725 1st St. - Suite 245, Pleasanton, CA 94566
VERAPCIVICCENTERSTATION.COM I 925.484.4725 I WWW.CIVICCENTERSTATION.COM
Click here to report this email as spam.
S
1
