A couple of residents of Parkside asked that the booster station be located near Hart Middle School, or at the maintenance facilities on the south side of the park. At Hart Middle School additional property would have to be purchased. At Hart Middle School is also not the appropriate location hydraulically because it would increase the pressure before the losses experienced by the system after the water travels deep under the Arroyo Mocho to the Sports Park. The maintenance facility site would require hydraulic modeling and could cause similar concerns from residents along the south side of the park. In addition this location would have the highest cost of implementation. Next Steps Upon the selection of the booster pump location, detailed plans and specifications will be developed for the additional piping, site work, installation of station and electrical feed to the station. An application will be submitted to PG&E to provide service to the new station. The installation will be publicly bid and brought back to City Council for award in mid-summer. The construction of the station will be off site and will take approximately twenty weeks to fabricate the station, and about one month to install the station on site, including the installation of the associated piping, concrete pad, fencing, and plants. The booster station installation will most likely be completed in fall of 2017.
