M D FOTHERINGHAM
EXHIBIT A
0 0
1
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS
Introduction & Background
MD Fotheringham, Landscape Architects, Inc. is pleased to present our proposal to complete the
Master Plan for the Pleasanton Community Farm. We will serve as prime consultant. Our Design
Team includes Jim Jennings Architecture, and MacKay & Somps, Civil Engineers.
In 2011, our firm was approached by the Abby 4-H Club of Pleasanton to assist in creating a
vision for the Farm, enlisting the expertise of the 4-H community. Our design team met with the
4-H advisory committee to begin preparing concepts for the Farm. Funding for the completion
of the Draft Master Plan was provided by the City of Pleasanton in July 2012. During 2013 a
preferred concept emerged and the current Draft Master Plan was prepared.
In early 2014 we assembled the drawings as well as started the Draft Master Plan booklet,
which was finished at the end of 2014. We then met with the City Manager to review our
findings and concepts. The culmination of that effort resulted in the placement of the Farm
Project on the City's Iist of Capital Improvement Projects for 2015-2016.
The Draft Master Plan presented a plausible solution for 4-H members to keep their animals on
the Farm. The assumption of the Draft Master Plan was that the 4-H community would be the
primary user of the stables and community building. However, it has been determined that the
community of Pleasanton would be better served if the animal stables and paddocks shown in
Sub-area 7 were relocated to the Alameda County Fair Grounds.
Design Approach (updated)
We propose to retain the Design Team members that prepared the Draft Master Plan
documentation:
Prime Consultant:
MD Fotheringham, Landscape Architect, Inc.
1700 North Broadway, Suite 390
Walnut Creek, CA 94596
92 5.93 9.82 92
