Page 2 of 2 <br />• For public safety and enhanced recreation, complete a Foothill Road Bicycle Corridor Design for <br />construction as a future Capital Improvement Project (CIP). <br />• Complete the Downtown Specific Plan Update in tandem with the following measurable <br />downtown objectives: <br />Commit funds to acquire key properties over time that will expand and improve access to <br />public parking in the north, central and south segments of Main Street near Peters Avenue <br />and implement in 2018 as per the Downtown Parking Study. <br />Evaluate options for and deploy strategies, including incentives, to encourage a greater <br />variety and healthy mix of ground floor retail. <br />- Improve Lion's Wayside and Delucchi parks with new landscaping, new bandstand; cover <br />the open ditch to eliminate a public health and safety liability and improve access between <br />parks, the Firehouse Arts Center and downtown businesses by 2018. <br />Lastly, we appreciate this opportunity to single out the above recommendations, consistent with the <br />many measurable objectives within in Pleasanton 2020: A Community Vision, the Chamber's local public <br />policy agenda created to help ensure Pleasanton remains among the very best cities in America in which <br />to live, work and raise a family.
