The
property owners who paid for the EIR deserve, at the very least, its timely certification and the
Council appointed EPSP Task Force members, who served for two -plus years, deserve a timely
outcome.
Priorities already on Council's DRAFT 2017/2018 Work Plan:
o Following overwhelming voter support last November, we urge you to complete the Johnson
Drive Economic Development Zone before June, 2017 and commence with infrastructure
improvements imrnediatety in anticipation of receiving development applications for the
property as early as April or May of 2017.
• Build on the successful completion of the Zoning Code Update, Phase 1 in 2016, with
completion of Phase 2 in 2017 and Phase 3 in 20M.
• A lack of affordable workforce housing is the greatest long term threat to the economy.of our
region, and we concur with Council's desire to begin a Workforce Housing Financing Analysis in
the fall of 2017.
• There is great demand in our region for an ice - Skating Facility with four full sheets of Ice; its
construction on the former Staples Ranch property, or elsewhere in the City, where restaurants,
retail and a hotel are (or could be) located will contribute greatly to our 7- day -a- week economy
and tax base.
www,pleasanton.org
777 Peters Avenue • Pleasanton, CA 94566 • Phone: (925) 846 -5858 • Fax: (925) 846 -9697
