Yamaoda in today's Times Herald re an 880+ unit
housing and commercial development by Pleasanton's transfer station currently being pushed by a
developer. I do hope our pro - growth city council thinks long and hard before approving this
development. Approval would exacerbate many issues that Pleasanton currently has - water supply,
traffic congestion, crowded schools, poor water quality, urban spread, overwhelmed fire and police
departments, etc.
I know that we've had a nice rainy season this year; however, shouldn't we plan for the future and not
spread our resources too thin without a plan to increase our access to potable water? And as a side
note, in all the years I've lived here, the quality of the water has never been so bad and destructive to
clothing, appliances, cooking utensils, pots and pans, plumbing hardware and pipes. It's also hard to
clean the white residue left behind.
I really do not understand why Pleasanton insists on developing any and every open lot (or, at least
having a plan to develop these properties). Is the lure of tax dollars more important than residents
quality of life?
Regards,
Carol Fasulo
1
