DOWNTOWN
ASSOCIATION
March 8, 2017
Honorable Mayor and City Council Members,
City of Pleasanton
P.O. Box 520
Pleasanton, CA 94566
SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL
Provided to the City Council
After Distribution of Packet
Date 3 -10-(7
Dear Mayor Thorne and Council members Brown, Narum, Olson and Pentin,
The Board of Directors and Downtown Vitality Committee of the Pleasanton Downtown Association (PDA)
were recently presented with the renewed plans for the east side of Pleasanton. The proposed development,
extension of El Charro Road to Stanley Boulevard, community amenities, school site and more were all very
well received. This property is within a mile of our Downtown and whatever is ultimately constructed on this
site will impact Downtown and our businesses. The PDA believes there are opportunities for Downtown to
benefit from this project with increased trail connectivity, a new downtown customer base and perhaps a
partnership to help address our ongoing parking needs. While much work will need to be done to fully
determine the details of this project the Pleasanton Downtown Association would like to see this project
added to the 2 -Year Council Priorities so that conversations about the future of the East Side of our
community can begin again.
Best Regards,
(\rg.;ii,
tutu 69
Jim DeMersman aura Olson
President V Executive Director
Pleasanton Downtown Association Pleasanton Downtown Association
